Veteran British actress Betty Driver has been admitted to hospital with suspected pneumonia, just days before her 91st birthday.
Driver, who has starred in longrunning U.K. soap Coronation Street for 42 years, was rushed to a medical facility earlier this week (begs09May11), prompting TV bosses to frantically rewrite her upcoming scenes, according to Britain's The Sun.
An insider tells the publication, "Obviously we are all worried because Betty is such a huge part of the show.
"She's an absolute trouper and still turns up for work and puts in a flawless performance. We've all sent our love and best wishes and are hoping for the best."
A Coronation Street spokesperson confirms, "Betty has been taken to hospital. We are all wishing her a speedy recovery."
Driver will turn 91 on 20 May (11).
