Rapper UNCLE MURDA has escaped with minor injuries after he was shot in the head in New York on Tuesday night (22Jan08). The up-and-coming MC, real name Leonard Grant, was taken to hospital following the incident in Brooklyn. He discharged himself on Wednesday (23Jan08), less than 24 hours after he was admitted - with the bullet still embedded in his skull. He was treated for non-serious injuries and doctors told him the bullet will fall out in roughly two to three weeks, according to website SOHH.com. Grant says, "I'm good. (It was) a little bit scary (but) it ain't the first time (I've been shot)." Meanwhile, the star, who is signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records label, has made astonishing allegations against the police - claiming he was a victim of the cops. He says, "I think they was checking for me. I think it was the police that shot me this time. I don't know, I just got a feeling." Grant lacks evidence for his claim, but insists his record label and management team are "doing our own investigation". According to the New York Daily News, the rapper has a criminal record dating back to 1997, which includes an arrest for the attempted murder of a policeman and drug charges.
