Tyler Perry's latest, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, which was pummeled by critics, became the top-selling DVD last week, according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. Ordinarily the top DVD seller is also the top Blu-ray Disc seller. Not this time, however, as Universal's The Host, which flopped theatrically with just $25.5 million, rose to the top of the Blu-ray heap. The Host managed to make it only to No. 3 on the DVD chart, behind the original Despicable Me, which made a return trip to No. 1 last week, aided by the marketing campaign for the sequel, which stormed the box office in its debut. Taking the No. 1 position on Home Media magazine's rental chart for the second week in a row was Universal's Identity Thief, followed by Dead Man Down and The Host.
There's already an Oscars buzz surrounding this movie.
