American TV chef FRIEDMAN PAUL ERHARDT has died. He was 63. Erhardt - who became known as Chef Tell - died of heart failure at his home in Allentown, Philadelphia, on Friday (26Oct07). The German-born star was a regular on TV shows like Regis and Kathie Lee and Saturday Night Live, and was hailed as a pioneer of chefs on the small screen. Philadelphian restaurant critic Elaine Tait paid tribute to the late Erhardt, saying, "He was the first of the great showman chefs. Up until his era, chefs stayed in the kitchen."
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
