Controversial Canadian politician Rob Ford has been hospitalised in Toronto to receive treatment for an abdominal tumour.
The Toronto mayor, who hit headlines worldwide when he confessed to a drunken, drug-fuelled rampage last year (13), is under the care of doctors at the city's Humber Regional Hospital.
He had been suffering stomach pains for weeks prior to his hospitalisation, and doctors have found a tumour.
Ford, 45, is set to undergo a biopsy on the growth as medics decide what further action to take. The politician previously underwent an operation to remove a tumour from his appendix.
The health crisis comes just weeks before Ford is due to fight for re-election in October (14).
