Incarcerated rapper T.I. is facing a lawsuit from a studio sound engineer who alleges he was beaten and held hostage by the rapper's associates in a dispute over a missing necklace.
Norris Gresham, an employee of T.I.'s Echo Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, has filed suit against the hip-hop star claiming he was assaulted and held captive for 12 hours on 8 September (10) after T.I.'s associate Michael Render, also known as Mike Bigga and Killer Mike, lost a diamond-encrusted medallion.
In the legal documents, which were filed at Fulton County State Court on Monday (08Nov10), Gresham alleges he was threatened with a gun, pushed down a flight of stairs and beaten, according to Allhiphop.com.
Gresham insists the rap star was not present at the time of the alleged assault, but claims he knew what was going on and "did nothing to stop or prevent the assault". The lawsuit, which names a number of T.I.'s associates including rapper Spodee, MAC Boney and Cortez 'C Rod' Thomas, states the men kept in touch with T.I. using text messages and e-mails.
T.I. - real name Clifford Harris, Jr. - is currently serving an 11-month prison sentence for violating his probation connected to a previous jail stint on weapons possession charges.
