Former LAW + ORDER star FRED THOMPSON is to take over top U.S. political pundit BILL O'REILLY's radio show in 2009 after losing out as the 2008 Republican Party nominee for President of the United States.
The U.S. senator, who represented Tennessee from 1994 to 2002 before reviving his political career in the White House race earlier this year (08), is also planning to return to acting in the new year.
He'll take over O'Reilly's The Radio Factor show slot on the Westwood One radio network in March (09).
