Overseas, DreamWorks Animation's The Croods proved to be nearly as big a draw as Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful, which set a foreign box office record for the year when it arrived two weeks ago. The Croods opened in 47 markets with $63.3 million versus Oz's $69.9-million foreign debut. The 3D animated film opened in first place in all but three of the 47 markets. Dropping to second place was Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful, which earned a solid $21.7 million, bringing its foreign total after three weeks to $178 million and its worldwide total to $356.4 million. Yet a third family family, Jack the Giant Slayer, placed third overseas. It took in $19.3 million to bring its foreign total to $60.5 million. Fox's A Good Day to Die Hard remained a contender with $10.5 million, raising its overseas gross to $220.2 million.
