Former big screen TARZAN STEVE HAWKES is threatening to sue wildlife officials in Florida after they shot and killed his pet tiger BOBO.
The actor, real name STEVE SIPEK, was devastated when the big cat escaped from his West Palm Beach sanctuary in July (04) and was shot after a day of freedom. Officials at the Florida Fish + Wildlife Conservation Commission then launched an investigationto find out whether the actor had endangered the public in allowing Bobo to escape.
Earlier this week (beg25OCT04), prosecutors dropped charges against Sipek, claiming they were unable to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he "negligently left the tiger in an unsafe situation."
Now, Sipek plans to turn the tables on the wildlife officials and is in the throes of launching a wrongful death lawsuit, insisting his pet tiger wasn't a threat to anyone - and shouldn't have been shot.01/11/2004 10:50
