LATEST: Late music executive SHAKIR STEWART will be remembered by family and friends in a ceremony this week (ends07Nov08) at his college Alma mater.
Stewart - who succeeded rap mogul Jay-Z as head of Def Jam Records - was found shot dead in his Atlanta, Georgia apartment last Saturday (01Nov08).
He is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The 34-year-old, who signed rappers Rick Ross and Young Jeezy to the label, is set to be honoured on Friday (07Nov08) at Kings Chapel at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Stewart worked for Def Jam since 2004.
