Jay Dee Springbett's ex-fiancee is adamant the former Australian Idol judge did not commit suicide as he was "in a good place" and "looking forward to the future" at the time of his shock death.
The 36-year-old former Sony music executive was found dead at his apartment in Sydney last month (Jun11). Police have declared his death was not suspicious, but tests are ongoing as officials attempt to determine how he died.
Louisa MCCole, the mother of his two daughters, has now spoken out to silence rumours of a suicide, insisting Springbett was in a happy frame of mind prior to his death as the former couple was planning to revive its relationship.
She tells Australia's New Idea magazine, "There's no way on Earth he would do that (commit suicide). He just could not have left his girls. He would do anything for them, they were his world... I think he had a heart attack... He was in a good place. He was really excited. Everything was falling into place. He had made peace with what was going on in his life and was looking forward to the future."
