The debut of ABC's Splash on Tuesday night turned out to be what NBC's Smash was not -- a ratings smash. In fact, TVbytheNumbers.com reported that it marked the biggest debut for an unscripted series on ABC in more than 2 years. It also proved to be a solid lead-in for ABC's Dancing with the Stars: Exclusive First Look, which came in ahead of its competition at 9:00 p.m. except for CBS powerhouse NCIS: Los Angeles, and for Body of Proof, which jumped more than 25 percent in the ratings at 10:00 p.m. from the previous week, setting a season high and coming in a solid second to CBS's Golden Boy in the time slot. (In the same hour NBC's Smash took another dive of its own, tying its season low with only 2.65 million viewers. The struggling network averaged just 2.84 million viewers for the night.)
