THE SPECIALS have reacted to reports that founding member JERRY DAMMERS was kicked out of the band, stating that he had been involved in initial plans for the reunion tour.
Speaking to the Guardian, TERRY HALL said that the "door remained" open for his former bandmate to join the group and that he was not sure why he did not want to.
"I've read Jerry's statement and I just don't get it," he told the newspaper. "'They're trying to kick me out of the band' not at all mate, not at all."
He added that Jerry had originally wanted to do one massive comeback gig, but the rest of the ska band had wanted to play a series of smaller concerts.
Dammers released a statement back in December claiming he had been driven out of the band.
A statement released on his behalf said: "Jerry has a duty to inform anybody who may be interested of the true situation, which is that he was not invited to take part in this proposed tour, or even told about it."
