British singer-turned-DJ SONIQUE has reunited with school friends after years without contact - in a bid to make the most of life following her cancer diagnosis.
The former S'Express star underwent two operations after doctors diagnosed her with breast cancer last July (09). She endured five months of gruelling chemotherapy before medics told her in December (09) the treatment had been a success.
Sonique, real name Sonia Clarke, admits the experience has encouraged her to cherish life and inspired her to reconnect with old pals.
She says, "One of the positive things about having cancer is you realise all the important things in life. I've calmed down a lot, take life more seriously and have a lot more respect for people. I've got in contact with three of my best friends from school who I hadn't spoken to for years. I'm not going to lose them again."
