Soccer legend PELE was robbed at gunpoint by a band of boys in his native Brazil earlier this month (13Jun08), according to new reports.
The 67-year-old star - real name Edson Arantes do Nascimento - was robbed of a gold necklace, cell phone and a watch during the violent run-in.
The incident was not reported to police at the time, according to Brazilian news magazine Veja, which made details of the incident public on its website on Sunday (22Jun08).
The robbery reportedly occurred after a vehicle in which Pele was travelling in was stormed by at least 10 young men carrying pistols and knives when it came to a stop in the southern Sao Paulo state of Santos.
Pele was voted Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee in 1999 and is a national hero in Brazil after helping his country to win three of its five World Cup titles.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
