British snooker star Ali Carter is battling lung cancer.
The world number 13, who has twice finished runner-up in the sport's World Championship, is set to undergo an intensive course of chemotherapy after doctors diagnosed him with the disease, just a year after he was given the all-clear from testicular cancer.
Carter, 34, who also suffers from Crohn's disease, underwent surgery last year (13) and went on to resume his snooker career. He has pulled out of a number of his upcoming commitments to concentrate on his latest health battle.
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
