SLUM VILLAGE co-founder BAATIN has died in mysterious circumstances. He was 35.
The Detroit, Michigan rapper is the second member of Slum Village to die in the past three years - former bandmate J Dilla passed away in 2006 during a battle with lupus.
Hip-hop star 9th Wonder was among the first to pay tribute to Baatin - in a Twitter.com post urging fans not to take loved ones for granted.
He wrote, "RIP Baatin of Slum Village - let's celebrate our people while they are here... We are losing folks."
Baatin, real name Titus Glover, had been performing with Slum Village as part of the Rock The Bells tour in the U.S. and Canada. He last performed at New York's Jones Beach Theater on 19 July (09).
He was expected to take to the stage with the band at a tour stop in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday night.
Baatin left Slum Village in 2003 and confessed to having issues with schizophrenia and emotional problems. He rejoined the group earlier this year (09).
