Reggae star SIZZLA was released by Jamaican police on Monday (21MAR05) following his arrest for suspected involvement in inciting violence and gun-running.
The THANK YOU MAMA singer was among 33 people retained in custody last week (17MAR05) following a police raid on Kingston's August Town district - officers seized three sniper rifles, a sub machine gun and nine AK-47 assault rifles.
Three unnamed men were subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Sizzla's lawyer GLEN CRUICKSHANK says, "They questioned him about violence in August Town and the guns and he denied knowledge of both. They could not carry that to court."23/03/2005 17:10
