A total of 16 people, including six Britons, will share the £95 million EuroMillions jackpot.

The winning numbers for the competition, which pools together the stakes from gamblers in nine countries, were 17, 28, 30, 38 and 44, while the Lucky Star numbers were 01 and 04.

The BBC reports that the prize money would be shared among 16 people who were part of the next level of lottery winners after it emerged that no one had bought the ticket containing all seven numbers.

Thus six people from Britain, five Frenchmen, two Swiss and three others from Austria, Belgium and Portugal are set to win approximately £6 million each, according to the broadcaster.

A spokesperson for Camelot told the BBC that between seven and 10 million tickets had been bought for the prize draw.

A total of nine countries, Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, take part in the lottery.
