THE PHIL SILVERS SHOW star ELISABETH FRASER has died of heart failure. She was 85.
The actress became a household name in America playing the long-suffering wife of SERGEANT BILKO on the popular 1950s series.
Although she failed to shed the stigma of her TV partnership with PHIL SILVERS, Fraser appeared in more than 24 feature films including THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER (1941).
Fraser was born in the Brooklyn area of New York in 1920 and won her first Broadway role at the age of 20 in THERE SHALL BE NO NIGHT.
The twice-divorced actress is survived by three daughters.17/05/2005 14:04
The film is almost half an hour longer than 'The Force Awakens'.
The actress will no doubt be returning for the long-running FX series.
The film is expected to continue without Mendes' involvement.
