SCISSOR SISTERS star BABY DADDY has slammed the US music industry for being fickle and obsessed with commercial bands.

The New York hitmakers searched for six months for a label to release their eponymous debut album in their homeland.

However, the Scissor Sisters are enjoying huge success overseas, particularly in the UK where their first CD was the best-selling disc of 2004.

Baby Daddy - real name SCOTT HERREN - complains, "It took six months to get a label to release the album in America.

"And I don't know that we're as excited about having the same level of success in America. America has a tendency to chew things up and spit them out very quickly, especially if they're not mainstream enough."
