British folk star Roy Harper is facing charges after he was accused of sexually abusing a young girl more than four decades ago.
The 72-year-old musician, who has previously collaborated with Pink Floyd, is facing nine charges relating to alleged offences which are said to have taken place between 1975 and 1977.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police says, "The summons relates to two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14 and four counts of gross indecency with a girl under 14. The charges are in connection with offences alleged to have taken place in Herefordshire between 1975 and 1977 and relate to one victim."
Harper has been summoned to appear at Hereford Magistrates' Court in England on Monday (18Nov13). He was not arrested in connection with the alleged offences, but agreed to be voluntarily interviewed by police earlier this year (13).
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
