American TV host ROBIN ROBERTS began her first course of chemotherapy on Thursday (20Sep07), in a bid to beat breast cancer.
The Good Morning America anchor is determined to keep working throughout the treatment - and even plans to appear on camera as the effects of the debilitating drugs kick in.
She says, "I'll work as much as I can. Part of the reason I am coming forward is in case you tune in and it looks like Kojak is sitting next to Diane (Sawyer), you'll understand why.
"Tomorrow (21Sep07) I will come in, and then head off for my chemotherapy."
Roberts has even been taking tips from viewers on how to cope with chemo: "Somebody said eat a lot of bacon before I have chemo. I don't know about that one. That's a new one."
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
