Hip-hop star Ahmir 'questlove' Thompson has been named the first artist in residence at the Made in NY Media Center.
The Roots frontman attended the ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday (1Oct13) in Brooklyn, New York and revealed he'll be spending quite a bit of time there, mentoring and inspiring future independent filmmakers, artists and content creators.
He tells AllHipHop.com, "This will be a vibrant space that will embrace forward-thinking, like-minded artists for film, art, music, new media, games, storytelling into the digital space. It will act as a hub."
Through the centre, start-up businesses will have access to classes and seminars, experts-in-residence and monthly networking events.
