U.S. reality TV medic DR. Drew is facing a lawsuit from the man who has been arrested for allegedly threatening the star and his family.
Charles Pearson was detained by police at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California on Wednesday (03Mar10) on a charge of making criminal threats.
The Celebrity Rehab star, full name Dr. David Drew Pinsky, claims Pearson has been sending him threatening messages over the internet, including one which allegedly said he would kill the star's children and make his wife eat them.
According to TMZ.com, Pearson filed a small claims suit against the Celebrity Rehab host in Los Angeles County Superior Court on 8 February (10), weeks before his arrest. He is suing Pinksy for $2,500 (£1,560) for "Performed Illegal Surgery, Medical Mal Practice... (sic) Auction Tampering, Implant tampering".
Pearson also claims he hasn't asked Pinsky for the money in person because the medic "claims membership to KKK (Ku Klux Klan)".
A court hearing for the case is set for Monday (08Mar10).
Pearson is currently being held on a $150,000 (£93,750) bail bond.
