Controversial American footballer and one-time rapper TERRELL OWENS was rushed to hospital in Texas last night (26SEP06) after suffering a reaction to pain medication. Dallas police officials are refusing to confirm or deny reports that the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver attempted to commit suicide, despite reports that Owens confessed to feeling depressed and attempting to do himself damage to paramedics. Owens was treated by paramedics, who were called to his home, and then taken to Baylor Medical Center. The sports star, 32, was given the prescription pills after undergoing surgery for a broken right ring finger on 18 September (06). Reports suggest his prescription bottle was empty when Dallas Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene last night. In a police report leaked online this morning (27SEP06), it appears Owens was asked if he had attempted to harm himself and responded: "Yes." The first reports suggested that Owens was hospitalised for suffering an adverse reaction to medication, but it has since been alleged he overdosed on painkillers. Owens was released from hospital this morning.
