Greek singer Nana Mouskouri is coming out of retirement to celebrate her 80th birthday.

The veteran star is eyeing a return to the stage with tour dates in England and Scotland next month (Oct14), and she wants her comeback to "bring hope and peace" to her fans.

Mouskouri, who turns 80 on 13 October (14), tells BBC Radio 4, "I was trying to find an excuse to come back for a while, so my 80th birthday was my reason. Now I can celebrate with the audience."

The star began her music career began in the 1950s but retired from the industry in 2008.
