Plans to honour soul music label Motown with a museum in Detroit, Michigan have been scrapped, due to lack of funding. City officials and Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr spent six years planning the $28 million (GBP14 million) museum, but they can't find the funding to launch the Motown Center. Planners are now considering a project on a smaller scale. The museum was supposed to house Motown memorabilia and tribute items to the label's soul legends, including Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
There's already an Oscars buzz surrounding this movie.
