Mexican actress Columba Dominguez has died, aged 85.
The beloved film legend passed away on Wednesday (13Aug14).
Dominguez' career in entertainment spanned more than six decades and she appeared in over 60 films and Tv series.
She was considered a muse for renowned writer/director Emilio Fernandez, who discovered her in 1945, and launched her career in film. She starred in his 1949 romantic drama Pueblerina, which many consider her greatest work.
Their friendly relationship became romantic and they wed in secret. Dominguez gave birth to a daughter, Jacaranda, in 1952 - the same year she and Fernandez split.
The couple fell in and out of love throughout his life and she retired from acting in 1987, a year after his death.
Dominguez and Fernandez' daughter died after falling from a building in 1978, aged 26.
She also worked with influential filmmaker Luis Bunuel, starring in his drama The River and Death.
Last year (13), Dominguez was honoured with a lifetime achievement prize at Mexico's Ariel Awards ceremony.
The live album is set for released in November.
The movie begins filming in the UK.
Time to learn what Kathy Bates' character has to do with all of this.
