Actress Melora Rivera was forced to climb onto the roof of her California home on Wednesday morning (24Sep14) to escape an intruder who had broken into her house.
Rivera, who had a small role in Whitney Houston's final film Sparkle, was in bed when she heard strange sounds coming from downstairs and she scurried out of her bedroom window to hide on the second floor roof.
A neighbour, who had noticed the incident, snapped photos of the scary encounter and pictures show Rivera cowering under a ledge as the man followed her up to the roof to find her.
Police came to Rivera's rescue shortly afterwards and arrested the male, identified as homeless man Christian Hicks. He has been charged with burglary and is now being held on $50,000 (£31,250) bail.
The victim tells local Los Angeles news station Kcal9, "Once I saw him in the house, I knew that we both couldn't be there. I knew that I didn't want to have a confrontation with him of any sort, you know, not knowing what his intention was."
