Former SMITHS guitarist Johnny Marr has officially joined American cult rockers Modest Mouse. English Marr, 42, had been working with the band on their upcoming fifth album WE WERE DEAD BEFORE THE SHIP EVEN SANK, when frontman ISAAC BROCK asked him to join permanently. Brook, 31, says, "He made a cautious commitment to write and record with us, and then the tighter we got, he was like, 'OK, let's tour too'. "Then he was pretty much a member of the band - not pretty much. He's a full blown member of the band. It's really f**kin' nice."
