The veteran cast of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel have reason to celebrate after knocking erotic blockbuster Fifty Shades Of Grey from the top spot in the U.K. box office chart.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel sequel, which features a cast of older actors including Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy, took $6.1 million (£3.8 million) in its opening weekend (27Feb-01Mar15) to end the erotic-thriller's two-week run at number one.

Fifty Shades Of Grey took $4 million (£2.5 million) to land in second place, ahead of Will Smith's new con-man drama Focus, which took $3.2 million (£2 million).

Computer-animated robot movie Big Hero 6 slipped from the second spot to number four with $1.9 million (£1.2 million), and Shaun the Sheep Movie rounded out the top five with takings of $1.6 million (£1 million).
