The beloved British Tv star who inspired Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels has landed a pivotal role in the new U.S. Tv adaptation.
Actor Frazer Hines will portray Sir Gordon Fletcher, the English warden of Wentworth Prison in Scotland in the time-travelling Highlands drama.
Author Gabaldon has revealed Hines' portrayal of Scottish Doctor Who companion Jamie MCCrimmon in the 1960s gave her the spark to write her Outlander books, which recently launched as a Tv series, starring Nell Hudson, John Heffernan and Caitriona Balfe.
