The victim was attacked in the parking lot of an Orange County cinema but managed to escape with his life.

His wounds were not life-threatening.

Reports suggest the stabbing incident followed an altercation inside the theatre, during the film.

It's the latest in a growing number of cinema-related attacks - James Holmes was recently sentenced to life imprisonment after he opened fire in a Colorado theatre in 2012 during a screening of The Dark Knight, killing 12 people and injuring 70 others, and last month (Jul15) a gunman killed two film fans during a screening of Trainwreck before turning his gun on himself.
