New Superman movie Man Of Steel has made U.S. box office history after soaring to the top of the chart with a stunning $113.1 million (£72.96 million) gross.
Thesuperhero haul makes it the biggest June opening ever, surpassing the $110.3 million (£71.2 million) record set by Toy Story 3 in 2010.
The Zack Snyder film, starring British hunk Henry Cavill as the comic book icon, also pulled in an additional $12 million (£7.74 million) from screenings on Thursday night (13Jun13), boosting its total debut to $125.1 million (£80.7 million).
Seth Rogen's latest comedy, This is the End, trailed in second place, debuting with $20.5 million (£13.23 million) over Father's Day weekend (14-16Jun13), while Now You See Me grossed $10.3 million (£6.65 million) in its third week of release.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Sofia Coppola has scored her best opening in a decade - The Bling Ring, a crime comedy based on the real life Hollywood burglars who targeted the homes of stars including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom, has over grossed $210,000 (£135,485) from just five locations.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
