SHIA LaBEOUF has been urged to install an anti-drink driving device in his car, following his DUI arrest at the weekend.
The 22-year-old Transformers star was charged with driving under the influence after his truck collided with another vehicle and flipped across a road in Hollywood on Sunday (27Jul08).
He is due in court next month (Aug08) to face a misdemeanour DUI charge - but Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) are already calling on the actor to agree to fit ignition interlock devices in all his vehicles.
The contraption prevents a car from starting until the driver has passed a sobriety breath test.
A M.A.D.D. spokesperson says, "We hope Mr. LaBeouf will voluntarily use the opportunity of his DUI arrest to educate his fans - and the country - about this life-saving device by installing the device on his vehicles."
Four states - Washington, Nebraska, Alaska and Colorado - currently force convicted drink drivers to install the devices in their vehicles.
Rock legend Eric Clapton has admitted the era of the guitar may be ''over''.
The actor plays the Queen frontman in the forthcoming movie 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
