Members of Kenny Ball's band paid tribute to the late British trumpet player during their gig on Friday (08Mar13), just a day after his death.
The 82-year-old musician passed away in hospital on Thursday (07Mar13) after suffering a bout of pneumonia.
Ball was the lead trumpeter in Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen, and his bandmates dedicated their Friday show in Grantham, north England to their late friend.
Ball's son Keith, who provides vocals for the group, has promised to continue his father's musical legacy, telling BBC News, "The legend lives on. We will go on playing and touring as long as people still want to hear us."
Keith Ball also thanked fans for their well wishes, adding, "We have had calls and emails from everywhere and we really want to thank everyone. The fantastic support has resolved us to continue."
The singer was discovered dead on Thursday morning.
