Julia Roberts has revealed she spent her Mother's Day travelling with her family from California to New York but claims the spent the whole day celebrating.
Julia Roberts celebrated Mother's Day in two different cities.
The 46-year-old actress had to be in New York City on Sunday (11.05.14) for the premiere of her new HBO drama 'The Normal Heart', so instead of having a brief celebration with her kids - twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, nine, and six-year-old Henry - in California, she decided to fly them all out with her.
She said: ''We celebrated Mother's Day the whole day. We started in California celebrating, then we got on a plane and we celebrated, and then we arrived here in New York and they all took me out to dinner. It was beautiful.''
The 'Pretty Woman' star helped her husband, DANNY MODER, and their three children to pack their bags for the trip to the Big Apple but confessed they all spent most of the day making sure she didn't have to tend to her usual motherly duties.
She told People magazine: ''Everybody was well organised for the day ... Well, one day out of the year, they can tighten the ship!''
Julia also revealed what gifts she'd received from her children and explained how her youngest son Henry had chosen a card with fill-in-the-blank sentences.
She said: ''One of them said, 'My mom is happiest when ... she gets home from work.'''
The blonde beauty admitted that despite loving her job, she's thrilled to be able to focus on her children once she gets home from work,
She added: ''When you get home and you see those cute little faces and those big eyes, you just go, 'Yes.' I feel like when I walk in the door, as soon as I see them, everything else just disappears.''
The actress spoke about raising her 11 year old daughter Matilda in the wake of Heath Ledger's death eight years ago.
