Veteran Australian singer Jimmy Barnes has scrapped a comeback show on doctors' orders.
The Cold Chisel rocker underwent five rounds of surgery in just eight days after checking in to The Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney for elective back surgery several weeks ago and was re-admitted soon after discharge due to ongoing issues.
He scrapped a series of work commitments but was hoping to hit the stage for the Deni Ute Muster festival on 4 October (14).
He has since stalled his return, telling fans, "I’m so sorry Musterers. I’ve been hoping and doing everything I can to get myself well enough, but it's taking longer to bounce back than we thought and I've had to pull out under doctor's orders."
Barnes has also pulled the plug on his scheduled performance at the One Tropical Day event in Darwin next month (Oct14)
Kasey Chambers will step in as the Deni Ute Muster headline act to replace Barnes at short notice.
