Alleged mobster James 'whitey' Bulger has been hospitalised after reportedly suffering chest pains in prison.
The former fugitive crime boss, who will be played by Matt Damon in an upcoming movie, fell ill on Sunday (04Nov12) and was transported from the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Massachusetts to the Boston Medical Center.
The 83 year old reportedly complained of chest pains, but his current condition was not known as Wenn went to press.
Bulger is currently awaiting trial on allegations he played a role in 19 murders. He fled Boston in 1994 and was captured by law enforcement officials in California last year (11).
His story will be told in a new movie starring Damon, to be directed by the actor's longtime collaborator Ben Affleck.
Affleck's younger brother Casey will also appear in the film.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
