Puerto Rican musician RAFAEL ITHIER is set to be honoured for his contribution to music by the Radio Broadcasters Association. Ithier, founder and director of El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, will receive the Ángel Ramos award in praise of his career at a ceremony later this week (begs04Jun07). The star will also throw the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game between the New York Mets and the Florida Marlins in Miami. He says, “I feel very honoured with these distinctions by the Radio Broadcasters Association of Puerto Rico and the Marlins baseball team from Florida. “El Gran Combo is eternally grateful for the support that the radio broadcasters of this country have given our music from the start.”
