The star passed away on Wednesday (06Jan16) in Rome, Italy, according to Variety.com.

Pampanini started training as a singer under the direction of her aunt, soprano Rosetta Pampanini. However, she began acting after she lost the Miss Italy beauty pageant in 1946.

She made her first onscreen appearance in 1947's L'apocalisse and went on to appear in several movies including Snow White and the Seven Thieves, A Day in Court, and Love and Faith.

She also directed two short films, Melodie a Sant'Agata and Giuseppe Verdi, in 1958.
