Honey Boo Boo, aka Alana Thompson, the six-year-old girl who became a viral sensation thanks to the reality show 'Toddlers and Tiaras', returned to television this month in her very own show. 'Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo' premiered on August 8, 2012, showcasing the notorious toddler's latest escapades, though attention has now turned towards her mother, June.
According to Starcasm.net, the 33-year-old was arrested for theft and contempt of court on January 3, 2008. The charges may have also involved child support issues since Shannon was involved in several cases at the time of her arrest. Her mother first came to prominence after Honey was seen on her reality show downing a mystery drink before a beauty pageant. The liquid later turned out to be a mixture of Mountain Dew and Red Bull - two extremely caffeine heavy energy drinks - with Honey yelling, "I want to win because I want to make money.A dollar make me holler, honey boo boo!" Her mother defended the choice of drink, saying, "A lot of pageant moms and people know what the 'special juice' is. Everybody has their different concoction. 'Special juice' is to help energize her.A lot of moms say, 'Oh, you're doping up your child.' No I'm not. I'm not hurting her".
June, and the rest of her family, including daughter Honey Boo Boo and husband 'Sugar Bear' are currently starring in the new series on TLC.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
