Famed Indonesian singer ARIEL has surrendered himself to police for questioning over allegations he breached the country's strict anti-pornography law by filming a sex tape.
Two homemade videos, which allegedly feature the star in bed with two different women, surfaced online earlier this month (Jun10) and the scandal has hit headlines across the country.
The women in the tapes with Ariel, real name Nazril Irham, are purportedly the singer's current partner Luna Maya and his ex-girlfriend Cut Tari - both prominent television personalities in Indonesia.
Irham handed himself into police on Monday (21Jun10) to face questioning over his alleged involvement in the tapes.
Police spokesman Zainuri Lubis confirmed: "Ariel surrendered today after police named him a suspect for breaching the anti-pornography law. If he hadn't surrendered we would have arrested him."
All three face up to 12 years in jail if they are found to have breached the Islamic country's 2008 anti-pornography law, which sets tough prison sentences for anyone who produces, disseminates, trades or provides pornography.
