Indian moviemaker KAIZAD GUSTAD has been sentenced to a month in prison after his British assistant was killed in an accident on a movie set in Mumbai.
Nadia Khan, 26, died after she was hit by a train during the filming of Gustad's movie Bombay Central in 2004.
The accident occurred while the crew was shooting scenes at Mumbai's Mahalaxmi station. Khan was reportedly speaking into a walkie-talkie and cueing up actors when she was struck by the train.
Gustad was taken into police custody and initially charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. In 2009 the charge was downgraded to causing death by a rash and negligent act, and now, after a lengthy trial, he has been found guilty.
A judge in India sentenced Gustad to a month behind bars and a fine of $1,650 (£1,100), but he will not be sent to prison as he has already served 35 days in jail while on remand.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
The drama will be making its return to the streaming service in the near future.
