Acclaimed psychotherapy drama IN TREATMENT and election thriller RECOUNT lead the TV nominations for the 2009 Golden Globe Awards.
Both shows garnered five nods apiece, including Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Historical drama John Adams picked up four nods, while comedy 30 Rock, Cranford, Bernard + Doris, Entourage, and Mad Men claimed three apiece at the nomination ceremony, held in Los Angeles on Thursday morning (11Dec08).
Meanwhile, Dexter, House, In Treatment, Mad Men, and True Blood will compete for the Best Television Series - Drama at the awards ceremony on 11 January (09), and 30 Rock, Californication, Entourage, The Office, and Weeds are the nominees for Best Television Series - Comedy Or Musical.
Sally Field (Brothers + Sisters), Mariska Hargitay (Law + Order: SVU), Anna Paquin (True Blood), America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Judi Dench (Cranford), Susan Sarandon (Bernard + Doris) and Laura Linney (John Adams) are among the stars up for gold in the three Best Actress Awards categories.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment), Hugh Laurie (House), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Steve Carell (The Office), David Duchovny (Californication), Ralph Fiennes (Bernard + Doris), Paul Giamatti (John Adams), Kiefer Sutherland (24: Redemption), Kevin Spacey (Recount) and Tom Wilkinson (Recount) will all compete for the Best Actor prizes.
