Musical IN THE HEIGHTS has proved such a smash on Broadway, Hollywood bosses are eyeing a movie version.
The show, created by Lin-Manuel Miranda - about his life in New York's Washington Heights neighbourhood, stunned the city's theatre scene when it opened on Broadway in February (08).
It won Best Musical at the Tony Awards just four months later, drawing the attention of Tinseltown studio bosses, keen to cash in on its success.
According to Daily Variety, Universal fronts the queue to make the movie, and will retain many of the producers, as well as the cast, headed by Miranda himself.
