MONTY PYTHON star ERIC IDLE seriously considered staging a handful of the troupe's most famous sketches as an ice-skating show.

The British comedian, who was the driving force behind the hit Python stageshow SPAMALOT, admits he's still musing an idea for a MONTY PYTHON ON ICE spectacular.

He says, "We actually talked about doing a live show called Monty Python on Ice and we were gonna swear that nobody would learn how to skate.

"We would just go on and the sketches would just be done on ice. We'd do The Parrot Sketch standing on the ice. In the spirit of Python, I think there's so much you can do.

"I've certainly been the one mining that vein and I find that I really enjoy it and people love it."
