The season debut of Showtime's Homeland is scheduled to take place on Sept. 29, but more than 100,000 people have already seen it as a bootlegged copy showed up on several BitTorrent sites over the weekend. The website TorrentFreak.com, which tracks BitTorrent usage, claimed that the print was a workprint, lacking some relatively minor post-production elements. It suggested that the print likely was leaked by someone working at a lab that was adding those elements. However, Variety, concluded that the video resembled a preview copy circulated among reviewers at the Television Critics Association tour in July. TorrentFreak.com noted that Homeland was one of the most pirated TV shows of 2012, with 2.4 million downloads.
The actor says he isn't "holding out for more money or doing anything like that".
