Longtime Holmes Brothers drummer and vocalist Willie Dixon has died.
The 72-year-old soul man, nicknamed Popsy, passed away in Virginia on Friday (09Jan15) just weeks after he was diagnosed with stage four bladder cancer.
He formed the Holmes Brothers with siblings Sherman and Wendell Holmes in the late 1970s. The group released the album Brotherhood on Alligator Records last year (14).
